Versace - Spring/Summer 2017
Versace – Spring/Summer 2017

Wait a minute! For spring/summer 2017 Versace boys get skinny? Seriously? I have to say that it’s quite shocking, because the ideal Versace man has always been the quintessence of force and beauty and, of course, sensuality. But let’s go back to the subject of this post, which is the spring/summer 2017 menswear collection of Italian luxury label Versace. There’s no doubt that the first word that I associate to this new collection is certainly lightness, with almost impalpable fabrics used to design elongated silhouettes with a more relaxed sense of tailoring. Exploring this season a new idea of menswear, Donatella Versace and her creative team play this season with sportswear elements and a more relaxed approach to the construction of the silhouette, setting aside for the moment all the elements that created through the years the aesthetic of the brand. If this is a good or bad move only time will reveal, but it’s certainly a new an unexpected chapter in Versace’s definition of menswear.
